Building the Mobile Interface
From receiver to organic space.
Overview
A record of rebuilding SoulCraft for a mobile screen without reducing it to a smaller desktop site. The interface began as a quiet receiver, then acquired distinct spaces for Archive, Lab, Journal, Life and About.
SoulCraftを単なる縮小版PCサイトにせず、モバイル画面のために再構築した記録です。静かな受信機として始まり、Archive、Lab、Journal、Life、Aboutそれぞれに固有の空間を与えました。
System Note
interface = mobile; silence = preserve(); structure = reduce_without_loss(); device_test(iPhone, Safari, Chrome); status = completed;
A reduced field for observation
The first mobile interface was intentionally sparse: a system log, a signal line and five destinations. Navigation appeared as an instrument rather than a conventional menu.
Sound, motion and the first gesture
Archive required the deepest device work. Preview motion, inline playback and audible output had to survive iPhone browser restrictions while each work retained its own timing and visual identity.
One entry, three readings
Journal carries the structural calm of the desktop edition into a narrow screen. Japanese, English translation and the version written to be sung remain separate readings of the same entry.
An organic interval
Life is the only area allowed to breathe differently. Its portrait, social links and contact image form an organic room inside the otherwise inorganic system.
A transition that exists only while moving
Selecting Life opens a two-second threshold: the rear view of a dog appears, then disappears. The Life top page itself remains unchanged; only the passage toward it becomes organic.
typedef struct {
char *identity;
char *process;
} soulcraft;A human presence held by code
About fixes the portrait above and lets the text field move independently below. C-like typewriting introduces the maker as a living system rather than a profile card.
The mobile interface is complete
The result is not a redesign of SoulCraft. It is the same work observed through another device: reduced, responsive and still silent where silence matters.
